Aphyosemion Genus: Systematics and Distinctive Features
Aphyosemion is a genus of freshwater fish belonging to the Nothobranchiidae family within the Cyprinodontiformes order. This genus includes perhaps the most beautiful representatives of killifish. Depending on taxonomic interpretation, the genus comprises between 35 and 95 species. Beyond their striking appearance, Aphyosemion species exhibit remarkable behavioral and reproductive adaptations.
