Who we are
You are on the aquarium information resource: “World Aquarium.” Our website address is https://worldaquarium.ru.
What personal data we collect and why
Comments
When a visitor leaves a comment on the website, we collect the data entered in the comment form, as well as the visitor’s IP address and user-agent browser data to detect spam.
An anonymized string created from your email address (a “hash”) may be provided to the Gravatar service to determine if you are using it. The Gravatar privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After your comment is approved, your profile picture will be publicly visible in the context of your comment.
Media Files
If you are a registered user and upload photos to the site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF metadata) as visitors can download and extract this information from the images.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account on our site and you log in, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
Upon logging in to your account, we also set several cookies with login and screen display preferences. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select the “Remember Me” option, your login information will be retained for two weeks. Logging out of your account will remove the login cookies.
When you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie does not contain personal data and only contains the ID of the article you edited, expiring after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, including tracking your interaction if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users who register on our website, we store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and modify this information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site or have left comments, you can request an exported file of your personal data, including any data you have provided. You can also request the deletion of your personal data. This does not include data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
User comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
